These incredibly rare white lion cubs are so adorable

A Crimean safari park has welcomed some adorable new additions in the form of four white lion cubs.

The incredibly cute quadruplets were coincidentally born on World Lion Day, which aims to raise awareness about the majestic big cat.

They were born at the Taigan Safari Park in the town of Belogorsk and already appear to be naturals in front of the camera.

“Four rare white lions were born right at the height of the holiday season. Even on the day when the whole world is celebrating World Lion Day,” Oleg Zubkov, director of the park, told Russia Today.

Their parents arrived at the park almost ten years ago, with Zubkov adding: “They bring us amazing offspring each year.”

White lions are not actually albino, their colouring is a result of a genetic mutation endemic to the Kruger Park region in South Africa.

The earliest recorded sighting of the white lion was in South Africa’s Timbavati region in 1938, however since then they have been hunted and removed from their natural environment, according to

There are less than 13 in the wild, according to the Global White Lion Protection Trust, who have reintroduced captive bred white lions into their natural habitat.
