Castiel, a defenseless being, lacked a distinct identity, a place to call home, and a family to belong to. He roamed aimlessly through the streets of Los Angeles, resembling a stray canine. It was uncertain if he had once been cherished as someone’s pet, but it was clear that he had been fending for himself for an extended period. As a result, he suffered from malnourishment, parasitic infections, and significant fur loss due to mange.
Introducing Castiel, a youthful dog who initially seemed like an ordinary four-legged creature. However, upon closer examination, it was discovered that he was a unique blend of wolf and domestic dog. Unfortunately, the shelter where he was brought couldn’t cater to his specific needs and contemplated euthanasia as a viable option. Fortunately, a team of rescuers intervened to locate a sanctuary that could provide a suitable home for this exceptional hybrid.
Fortunately, Castiel was saved by the WOLF Sanctuary, an organization committed to rescuing and nurturing wolves and wolf-dog hybrids.
Once Castiel received the necessary medical attention, he was transferred to an off-site hospital. He was advised to remain there until he fully recuperated and became strong enough to embark on the journey to the refuge.
Upon reaching the hospital, Castiel’s profound timidity and anxiety in the unfamiliar environment quickly caught the attention of the staff. He tended to retreat into the shadows, making a deliberate effort to avoid any form of interaction with those around him.
